SIMON Reports Simon Reports is a utility that converts plain old text files into page printer output. It’s designed to solve two problems:
- Organisations wishing to move from line or dot matrix printers to page printers, for speed, convenience, access to forms overlays, cost savings on pre-printed stationery, flexibility, and better presentation. Often the cost of the conversion is high, requiring many hours of expensive consultants' time, and/or development time.
- The complexity of high-end ERP systems' report designers can be overwhelming, and the cost of bringing in outside assistance prohibitive. With Simon Reports, all you need is to create a text file in just about any layout and you can turn it into a professional laser-printed form.

Simplicity of setup and configuration were key design principles of Simon Reports.
There are several ways of getting text files for Simon Reports to work with, but it can nearly always be done. A variety of mechanisms are built in to cater for all kinds of host system.
