Kyubit Business Intelligence FAQs

About Kyubit Business Intelligence

Kyubit BI is a self-service business intelligence and reporting platform that allows organisations to build dashboards, reports, and KPIs in minutes. It empowers users to move beyond static spreadsheets and create interactive, visual dashboards quickly and securely on their own servers.

Kyubit integrates seamlessly with Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, and Analysis Services, as well as Excel, CSV, and other SQL databases.

Cirrus TechVue is the exclusive South African partner for Kyubit BI, bringing this powerful platform to local organisations for the first time and providing all licensing, implementation, and support locally.

Licensing and Pricing

Cirrus TechVue offers both permanent and subscription-based licensing in South African rand (ZAR):

  • Permanent licence: Once-off purchase with an optional Software Assurance Plan for upgrades and support.
  • Subscription licence: Includes upgrades and technical support throughout the subscription period.

Setup and Requirements

You’ll need:

  • Windows operating system
  • .NET Framework 4.5.1 or higher
  • IIS 6 or higher
  • Microsoft SQL Server (any edition, including Express)

Self-Service Analytics and Dashboards

Kyubit BI connects to multiple data sources, including:

  • Microsoft SQL Server (OLAP or Tabular)
  • Excel and CSV files
  • Direct SQL queries
This flexibility allows users to combine different data sets into a single, interactive dashboard.

Value and Benefits

Kyubit’s research shows that most of the total cost of BI ownership comes from the human resources required to build and maintain dashboards, not from the software licences themselves.

By allowing users to create dashboards on their own, Kyubit significantly reduces reliance on IT teams, cuts maintenance costs, and accelerates decision-making.

Support and Contact

Cirrus TechVue provides all local support, software licensing, and technical assistance for Kyubit BI. International support is also available via Kyubit when required, but South African clients receive direct help from Cirrus TechVue’s team.
